Bryce calls up Fury so she can bring a car to fetch Emile from the Meat Market. Bryce wants her parents to adopt Emile, as they have always longed for a second child. She tells Emile he will be given a new identity for his protection. When Bryce mentions Danika, Emile tells her he had hears Sofie talk about her. Danika had discovered Sofie had Vanir abilities and wanted her to carry out a task for her. Danika couldn’t do the task herself as she would be recognized easily. Emile doesn’t know the nature of the task.
Hunt is cold towards Bryce because she lied to him. Bryce brushes off his displeasure and goes off to Ruhn’s house. She is surprised to see a dragon in human form there, wrapped in a blanket. Ariadne recognizes Bryce as Bryce burnt with light during to visit to the mystics. Bryce is horrified that a human-sized creature was crammed into a ring. She is also introduced to the three sprites and tells them about Lehabah saving her life. The sprites deem Bryce an ally for acknowledging Lehabah’s sacrifice. Bryce is glad Ithan saved the creatures. She wants a way to free the sprites and the dragon.
